President and CEO
Ms. Baron brings over 20 years of management and technical leadership experience in the information technology (IT) industry to her current role as founder, President and CEO of Craytek, Inc. Under her stewardship, Craytek has gone from a small start-up with a single client to a growing, vibrant company with worksites in 5 states and with multiple contracts and clients in both the commercial and Department of Defense sectors.
Over the past 13 years, she has grown Craytek into a full service IT company with one division focusing on custom web-based software application development and another division providing on-site IT support services including help desk and network support.
By focusing on providing high quality products and services that meet their customers’ needs in the most cost effective manner, Craytek has established a reputation for completing complex projects on schedule and within budget. These have included numerous projects involving upgrading DOD legacy applications and replacing them with more modern web applications that fit with the agencies’ current and planned application infrastructure. Many of these new applications have been successfully deployed and are fully operational, with Craytek continuing to provide maintenance and support services.
Prior to founding Craytek, Ms. Baron worked in a series of IT technical and project management roles for several major corporations including Litton Tasc (now Northrup Grumman Information Technologies), Tracor (now BAE Systems) and Dyncorp (now CSC). This included several years as an on-site representative with their DOD customers, responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining custom software applications. Her strong customer focus, developed and honed during this period, formed the basis for her subsequent successful development of long-term relationships between Craytek and its DOD and commercial clients.
Vice President and CIO
In 2001, Mr. Coleman and business partner Christine Baron co-founded Craytek Incorporated, a small web development and help services company focusing on Federal government business. Mr. Coleman contributed project management, software development and systems architect expertise to the firm, and was instrumental in the successful management of early projects that helped establish the firm as a reliable and competent service provider. As a result, Craytek has been able to grow from initially just two employees with a single contract to more than 30 employees and consultants with multiple contracts.
Mr. Coleman has more than 25 years of engineering, management and project leadership experience, and is an alumni of California Polytechnic University (engineering) with post-graduate studies in the University of Southern California Safety and Systems Management program. While at Craytek, he has served as project manager and/or architect on diverse web application and database projects including: Records Management, Logistics Planning, Performance Assessment, Financials, Information Management, Resource Utilization Reporting, and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS). He now serves on the Craytek Board of Directors while continuing to personally manage IT projects for some of Craytek’s best customers, which helps to maintain the firm’s customer-centric focus and resulting business success.
Prior to Craytek, Mr. Coleman was a technical consultant with Northrop Grumman working on Navy financial and Federal Aviation Administration database IT projects for over 2 years. And as a US Navy Electronics Engineer for 11 years, Mr. Coleman was lead engineer on various software development projects that were deployed aboard Navy submarines and at Naval and contractor facilities. This software provided Business Intelligence, Data Transformation and Workflow/Process Management functionality to support weapon system failure reporting and corrective action operations. Mr. Coleman also worked for SAB Harmon Industries supporting railroad signaling manufacturing for over 3 years, and provided freelance audio engineering and production services to music industry clients.
